Statutory Rights
The SIPPS Corporation Ltd does not provide a separate voluntary manufacturer’s warranty for the SIPPS Original Travel Tea Cup. Customers continue to have statutory rights under UK consumer law. Those rights apply independently of any warranty and cannot be restricted by this statement.

1 Scope of this statement
This statement applies to consumers who buy a SIPPS Original Travel Tea Cup in the United Kingdom. It explains the statutory remedies that may apply when the product does not conform to the sales contract. It is not a commercial guarantee and does not create an additional contractual warranty.
Wholesale, trade and other business purchases are governed by the relevant supply contract and applicable law, rather than this consumer statement.
2 No separate manufacturer’s warranty
SIPPS does not offer an additional time-limited manufacturer’s warranty, and no product registration is required. Nothing in this statement excludes, limits or replaces any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
3 Standards required by law
Under UK consumer law, goods supplied by a trader must be:
• of satisfactory quality, taking account of their description, price and other relevant circumstances
• fit for any ordinary purpose and for any particular purpose made known to the seller and accepted by the seller
• as described, and consistent with any model or sample relied upon when purchasing
A SIPPS cup that does not meet these standards may be faulty for legal purposes. The remedy depends on the circumstances, including when the fault appeared and the nature of the problem.
4 If a fault appears within 30 days
Where the legal conditions are met, you normally have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within 30 days of taking ownership and receive a full refund. You may instead choose to request a repair or replacement.
The 30-day period may be paused if you agree to a repair or replacement. If that remedy is unsuccessful, the remaining short-term rejection period may continue, subject to the law.
5 If a fault appears after 30 days
After the short-term right to reject has ended, you will normally be entitled to require the seller to repair or replace the product. The seller may choose the alternative if your requested remedy is impossible or disproportionate compared with the other option.
A statutory repair or replacement must be provided within a reasonable time, without significant inconvenience and at the seller’s cost, including necessary labour, materials and reasonable postage.
6 If repair or replacement is unavailable or unsuccessful
If repair or replacement is impossible, has not been completed within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience, or does not bring the product into conformity, you may be entitled to an appropriate price reduction or a final right to reject the product. The remedy and any lawful deduction depend on the circumstances and the applicable UK jurisdiction.
7 Faults arising within six months
If a fault becomes apparent within six months of delivery, it is generally presumed to have been present when the product was supplied unless the seller proves otherwise or that presumption is incompatible with the nature of the goods or fault. After six months, you may need to show that the product failed to conform when supplied.
8 Matters not normally treated as product faults
Statutory remedies for faulty goods do not normally apply where the problem results from:
• accidental damage, impact, dropping, crushing, chips or breakage occurring after delivery
• misuse, neglect, unauthorised alteration or use contrary to supplied care and safety instructions
• normal wear and tear or a purely cosmetic change that does not make the product unsatisfactory
• a characteristic or defect that was specifically disclosed and accepted before purchase
Fine bone china may have minor variations in colour, glaze, translucency or finish. Whether any variation amounts to a fault depends on whether the product meets the legal standards described above.
9 Damage in transit or an incorrect item
The seller remains responsible for supplying the correct product in the agreed condition. Contact the seller promptly if the cup arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect. Photographs of the packaging and product can help the seller assess the issue, but a request for photographs does not remove your statutory rights.
10 How to seek a statutory remedy
Your statutory claim is normally against the trader that sold you the cup:
• If you purchased directly from SIPPS, contact SIPPS through www.sippscups.co.uk.
• If you purchased from a retail or wholesale partner, contact that retailer or trader first.
Provide your order number or other reasonable proof of purchase, a description of the problem and, where reasonably possible, clear photographs. Please wait for return instructions before sending the product because the return address may differ from the registered office. The seller must bear reasonable return costs where the law requires it to accept a faulty product.
11 Change-of-mind returns
A change-of-mind return is separate from a claim that goods are faulty. For qualifying distance or off-premises purchases, statutory cancellation rights may apply. Please refer to the SIPPS Returns and Refunds Policy for the practical return process. That policy does not restrict your rights in relation to faulty, misdescribed or unfit goods.
